Abstract
This Paper starts by defining the term 'Empowerment'. It explores the relationships between the concepts of Empowerment and the quality of life in Obohia-Ndoki community. The paper examines the need for the Empowerment of Obohia-Ndoki community through the Open and Distance learning education. This is the vital and indispensable instrument to the survival of the rural community. Furthermore, the Open and Distance learning mode will invigorate the life of the community especially among the young women who are traditional weavers. The activities of this traditional occupation have deprived many the pursuit of Formal education.
